On June 20th, 2011, I attended Emporia Lodge No. 12 in Emporia, Kansas. I was in town to attend a metal engraving course in the hope that I would be able to start building Masonic jewelry. I asked the salesman at Glendo Corporation if they knew of any masons. He introduced me to a Prince Hall Mason named Otis. After a short conversation about what I was looking for, Otis connected me with the Secretary of Emporia Lodge No. 12. During the discussion I found out some interesting information about
My son Trey (Goatrider) and I visited Tucker Lodge #297 in Galveston on Wednesday June 15, 2011. We were in town for Texas A&M Galveston’s new student orientation and decided that it would be fun to visit another lodge. The Grand Lodge information for Tucker Lodge is currently incorrect. The lodge used to meet in the same lodge room as Harmony No. 6, but has recently moved to the El Mina Shrine meeting room. They are now located at 1616 Tremont Street.

On May 16, 2011 Trey and I attended Colorado Lodge #96 in Webberville, TX. This was not our intention. We were attempting to make it to Austin Lodge #12, but my work caused us to leave so late there was no way that we were going to make it to Austin. This was a special night for the lodge and a mason dear to my son’s and my hearts.
On May 2, 2011 Chris (chrisu0017) and I hopped into Chris’s truck and headed south to one of Texas’s most historic Lodges: Gonzales Lodge #30. We were not traveling there just for the Masonic fellowship and to absorb some of the historic ambiance of the Lodge. We were on a pilgrimage to harass the administrator of the Masons of Texas forum: Blake Bowden.
Gonzales Lodge was chartered on January 17, 1847. This was less than 12 years after the Battle of Gonzales on October 2, 1835,
On April 30, 2011 Trey and I attended Blanco Lodges special called meeting to receive M:W: T.E. "Gene" Carnes, Grand Master of Texas. Yes, if you are a faithful reader you will have noticed in Issue #10 we attended lodge in Corpus Christi in the morning and now in Blanco in the evening. It was a 490 mile, 8 hour and 22 minute, round trip.
Why Blanco? We heard that they were going to roast the Grand Master and we could not miss it! This blog is a little long, but I believe
