Since last year and throughout college. I decided to take upon myself the initiative to become a MM. Although learning the proficiency's was tough itself, it really opened my mind as to how this fraternity of Free and Accepted Mason's behaves to other people. As an EA, I felt as if I was a child, lost in some wilderness with no place to go. When I found an obligated teacher who was willing to devote his time to help me, my life just seemed to be in a different direction, as if I was heading to some place or some goal which was suspenseful! Although very young, I was still honored to meet so many people from another lodge in which I took upon myself courtesy work. I will never forget the day I received my MM degree. I had the honor of having the Past Grand Master of Texas, Right Worshipful Reese Harrison who raised me, as well as PDDGM W.L Wotipka. I never thought I would ever experience this in my life and I am very grateful for it. I have contemplated many times as to that experience I had because it so meaningful to me. Freemasonry itself is a lifelong experience and I hope to cross path's with any of you Brother's one day because it would truly be an honor, because we are equal. If any other Brother's would like to share your experiences as to how you were raised, feel free to share.

I read your blog with intrest.Knowing you and seeing your willingness to learn and
to help and get involved has been heart warming.I wish other new Brothers were as
eager to learn as you seem to be.
Brother W.L.Wotipka was my Secretary the year I was W:.M:. he was a good man and Mason.
I could always get a good answer from him.He is greatly missed. We now have another very
dedicated Brother.Dorsel White.Brother Dorsel was always ready and most often had things
done before I asked.Being a Secretary a few times myself.I really apprciate his"Get er done"
attitude.Always a pleasure to see you and your Brother in Lodge.Danke.

I enjoyed reading your blog as to your progression from an EA to MM, i myself traveled that similar path, i myself was raised by a past grand master and was honored to have him do that for me, and it was my mentor that i have such a profound respect and caring for, although many of the brothers were there to help me in my progression, it was my mentor that went beyond in helping me and for that, I felt to honor him was a must and in doing so, I worked every moment that I had to learning the craft and in doing so I now reside as J.W. of our lodge and participate in the initiation of degrees and I more often than not refer to him as a father than as a brother.

I bring greetings from St. John's Lodge #10. AASR, Maryland.

I'm touched by the sincerity in your experience of raising to the sublimed degree.

I experienced a similar feeling of re-birth and relieve. Its in itself a fulfilling passage in our travel.

I'm glad to be able to felliowship with you all, my brother.

    Travel light.

I can't say that I was raised by a PGM or a PDDGM, but I can say I was raised by a friend. Someone in lodge who truly treated me like family. I explain my relationship with him as being similar to the one I had with my father-in-law before he passed away. This man was truly a great man in my eyes and though he has gone on to receive his wages from the Master Builder he will always be with me. I remember being initiated and how welcomed I was made to feel by the Senior Deacon. I also can say that as a man I was saved late in life and the feelings I had then and the feelings I had when raised were both so close to the same that I knew I was changed forever. I have stayed active in the lodge and I hope through my actions I can get others to stay active as well. I love teaching others and making a difference in their lives. And so though our paths are different, I feel from your post that we have the same feelings within our hearts. May your masonic journey be long and filled with joy.
